COC Education & Outreach Event Internship Opportunity
The Canadian Opera Company’s Education and Outreach department organizes and facilitates many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to engage with and access opera.
The Education and Outreach team is looking for an intern who will capture reporting materials for the events and programs during the 2018/2019 season, and compile and analyze the materials and data collected in a creative and innovative way.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to attend events, and receive tickets to the opera dress rehearsals in the 2018/2019 season. The Event Intern will report to the Children, Youth, and Family Programs Manager. Throughout the contract period there will also be opportunities to work with other staff and artists at the Canadian Opera Company.
This position will involve a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including:
- Capturing photo and video footage at events and workshops
- Acquiring qualitative and quantitative data during the events and workshops
- Compiling reporting materials of programs and events
- Analyzing and reporting on materials collected in a creative and clear format
- Other related activities as necessary
This internship position is suited to a post-secondary student in a program that requires an internship as part of the course curriculum; who enjoys capturing events and analyzing information; who works well independently as well as in a team environment; and is interested in and passionate about the arts, arts outreach and education, and opera and/or performing arts. The selected candidate will obtain a vulnerable sector verification.
