OPERA FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES
Next season, our Opera for Young Audiences program will return to the Imperial Oil Opera Theatre for a special world premiere production on December 2 and 3, 2020. Click here for details.
BUILD AN OPERA
A modular, entry-point workshop where teachers choose their topics to form their overall experience. Topics include: choral singing, melody and composition, rhythm and movement, libretto writing, story creation, and artist performance. Teachers may choose three modules to create the perfect workshop.
Workshops run for 90 minutes and are priced at $150.
Our opera teaching artists come from a variety of backgrounds (singers, composers, designers, musicians). We will aim to find the ideal instructor based on your choices of topic.
Classroom teachers and students collaborate with professional artists to become composers, librettists, designers, and performers of their own operatic work. Funded programs for the 2019/2020 season have been selected. We are currently able to accept applications from schools for paid programming. Workshop fees vary depending on the content and structure of the program.
