OPERA FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES
DECEMBER 2 - 6, 2020
Imperial Oil Opera Theatre
227 Front St. E, Toronto, ON
When best friends Léa and Ivy stumble upon a dark secret while visiting an old-fashioned carnival, they soon find themselves on a haunting adventure. Their ghostly discovery forces the two teenagers to confront an age-old dilemma: When you become aware of suffering, do you turn away? Or do you take action?
This new opera, by COC Composer-in-Residence Ian Cusson and librettist Colleen Murphy, explores themes of courage, violence, keeping promises, and helping others.
COC Director/Dramaturg-in-Residence Julie McIsaac directs our fantastical production aimed at young audiences and sung in English by artists and graduates of the COC Ensemble Studio.
